The Doctor Enters Often She Often Would
Did you know that nature can actually heal various ailments The pure air, sunshine and outdoor exercise can actually be a cure for some of those minor pains and discomforts that hit us from time to time.In my struggle with trying to get rid of joint pain that at times can make me feel so weak that it is a major effort just to get out of bed. I learn that more important than the food we eat, or the 8 glasses of water we are trying to drink every day, is the air we breathe. Yes, fresh air has been such a source of renewal for me when I push my body out of bed in the early morning and go for a short walk around my neighborhood. My grandma used to say where fresh air and sunshine enter little, the doctor enters often. She often would tell me about the old days when she would go out in the woods for long walks when she felt tired or felt minor pain in her joints. My grandma lived to be 97 and was very healthy during her lifetime. She often would say that many folks would have a better quality of life if only they would go out and spend 20 minutes each day breathing fresh air.
When I was young, I would often go to stay with my Grandma for the summer. She lived in the country in a small town in South Carolina. I will never forget some of my various friends coming over to visit me only to find my grandma in a state of partial undress especially in the mornings. Some of them would ask me the reason for this strange custom, I would tell them frankly without the least of embarrassment that Grandma was taking her air bath.
She would always tell me that it was important for her skin to breathe and it helped her to maintain her health. Since Grandma could play baseball, jump rope, and go for long bike rides with me I thought she was the coolest Grandma around.
